Bayern Munich's Jupp Heynckes: We want to win the Champions League

The Bavarians' head coach is full of ambition and feels his side have the quality necessary to go all the way in European club football's elite tournament
Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has stated that his side have set their sights on winning the Champions League this term and feels they have the players to go all the way.

The Bavarians have won their opening two Group A games against Villarreal and Manchester City, and lock horns with Napoli on Tuesday at San Paolo as they look to maintain their perfect record.

"We are a team who want to win the Champions League. We have a long way to go, but we can count on excellent players like Franck Ribery and Bastian Schweinsteiger. Bastian, just now, is playing wonderfully, which is to his merit, but also that of the team.

"Until now, we haven't had too many problems, but that is down to us. We are well prepared and we have a perfect balance between attack and defence.

"But I'm lucky because I have a lot of fantastic players, and anyone could have achieved the results I have."

The final of the 2011-12 edition of the Champions League will be played at Bayern's Allianz Arena on May 19, 2012.
