Hamburg revealed that Juventus have submitted an official bid for Dutch attacker Eljero Elia, however, sporting director Frank Arnesen confirmed that the Bundesliga club would not sell the 24-year old.
Elia has garnered plenty of interest from domestic and foreign clubs, and his future has long been in question.
A note on the official HSV website referenced widespread reports that Juve were interested in Elia, and confirmed that "the Italian record champions have made an official offer for the Dutch international."
However, Arnesen's response was clear in defining Hamburg's position.
"We do not want to let go of Eljero Elia and have no need to sell him," the Dane said. "He is a very important player for us."
In May, Elia claimed interest from Juventus, Liverpool, and Wolfsburg. However, he has spoken publicly of his intent to remain at Hamburg, and apparently will receive his wish.
