Bayern Munich confirm Miroslav Klose departure

The experienced attacker has decided not to extend his stay with the Bundesliga giants after failing to come to terms over contract length and will leave on a Bosman move
German powerhouse Bayern Munich have confirmed on their official website that veteran attacker Miroslav Klose will leave the club this summer.

The Germany international has an expiring contract with the Bavarians and has made the decision not to accept Bayern's renewal offer.

"Unfortunately, our talks with Miroslav Klose have not produced a positive result. We’d have been happy for him to extend his stay, but when it came to the length of a new contract, we were unable to agree on a mutually acceptable period,” commented club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

“Bayern Munich wish Miroslav Klose and his family all the best for the future, and thank him for our partnership over the last four years."

Klose returned the gesture by thanking Bayern for his spell at the club, and added that wearing the jersey was something special for him.

"I’ve had four good and successful years here in Munich, and I’d like to thank FC Bayern very much indeed for that. The opportunity to play for this club was always very special."

The 32-year-old attacker has yet to make a decision on his future, as clubs such as Valencia, Lazio and Trabzonspor are all keen to add him to their ranks.
