Werder Bremen have officially completed the signing of Turkey international Mehmet Ekici from Bayern Munich.
A press release from Bremen revealed that the 21-year old signed a four-year deal that will run until 2015. He will be official unveiled on Monday.
"We are delighted to have found in Mehmet a player that fits perfectly into our plans. He is a young player with German roots, who has had a strong season," Bremen sporting director Klaus Allofs said.
Ekici himself is looking forward to the upcoming campaign with his new club.
"Werder is a good place for me. I am looking forward to the stadium, the fans, and the team. I want to take my chance here. I can continue my development," he said.
An official transfer fee has not been confirmed, but it is estimated that Bremen paid €5 million in exchange for the versatile attacker.
Ekici spent the 2010-11 season at Nurnberg, where he enjoyed a breakthrough year. In 32 games, he scored three goals and provided nine assists.
