AC Milan midfielder Mark van Bommel has hit out at the Bayern Munich players who criticised head coach Louis van Gaal after his departure.
The former Bayern skipper has voiced his opinion that the individuals who disagreed with Van Gaal should have talked to the Dutch tactician when he was still at the club, rather than bad-mouthing him now he has gone.
"Players shouldn't hit out at former coaches like this. The players who are now criticising Van Gaal should have had the balls to do so when he was still in charge," Van Bommel was quoted as saying by Bild.
"It would have been much more constructive had they talked with Van Gaal when he was still at Bayern. It's simply a lack of class to criticise him now."
The 34-year-old left Bavaria for Milan in the January transfer window after a conflict with Van Gaal, and collected the Serie A title with the San Siro side last weekend.
