FC Augsburg promoted to the Bundesliga following 2-1 win over FSV Frankfurt

Southern Germany-based club return to the big time with a game to spare
Augsburg have secured their place in Germany's Bundesliga after beating FSV Frankfurt 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

There were plenty of nerves at the Impuls Arena as the visitors took the lead after three minutes with Jurgen Gjasula scoring a penalty.

However, Michael Thurk led the fightback for the homeside as he drew them level, and five minutes from time Stephan Hain grabbed the winner to seal the win and promotion for Jos Luhukay's men.

They advance to the German top flight for the first time in their history, and join Hertha BSC, who sealed their return to the Bundesliga last month.
