According to a report in Bild, current Germany coach Joachim Loew is one of the top candidates to replace Louis van Gaal as head coach at reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
The German giants revealed on Monday that the Dutch gaffer will leave Bayern at the end of the season, despite having a contract until the summer of 2012, and they reportedly consider Loew to be the perfect replacement.
However, 51-year-old Loew has a contract with the German Football Association (DFB) until after Euro 2012 and the DFB refuse to let go of their head coach before the tournament.
Therefore, Bayern are looking for a solution until the summer of 2012. Current Bayer Leverkusen coach Jupp Heynckes is one of the main candidates to take over from Van Gaal at the end of the season.
Heycnkes will have to settle for a one-year contract though if he is to take over at Bayern, allowing the Bavarians to make a move for Loew after Euro 2012.
