Bayern Munich might have lost the Champions League final against Inter last season, but versatile midfielder Andreas Ottl has good memories of the Nerazzurri and is eagerly anticipating the upcoming Champions League round of 16 tie.
"I have good memories of the Giuseppe Maazza stadium. Felix Magath handed me my Champions League debut there against Inter [a 2-0 win in September 2006]. I was marking Figo, and I received some good reviews afterwards," said Ottl on the club's official website.
"A couple of months later, I had another good game there in the quarter-final [a 2-2 draw with Milan], so I have happy memories of the stadium.
"And you always look forward to these highlights. I’m sure we’ll see two fiercely and keenly fought matches."
Ottl also took the time to discuss his future at Bayern and he made it clear that he has yet to talk with sporting director Christian Nerlinger about a contract extension.
"I don't know what will happen at the end of the season. It's still relatively early. I’ll certainly be looking to speak to Christian Nerlinger and Louis van Gaal in the next couple of months. I need to decide what’s right for me. Let’s wait and see."
