Norwegian outfit Rosenborg have officially confirmed the sale of midfielder Anthony Annan to Schalke.
"I am happy on Anthony's behalf. He has been very close to a club change for a while now, so I understand his hunger to move on. We will have a little trouble when he leaves, but we will make do," Rosenborg coach Jon Joensson told his team's official website.
Annan, 24, is most comfortable in a defensive midfield role. The Ghana international and nephew of former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan is expected to replace Ivan Rakitic, who joined Sevilla yesterday. The transfer fee for Annan has yet to be revealed, and Schalke have yet to confirm the transfer.
