Bayer Leverkusen coach Jupp Heynckes admitted that his side were outplayed by league leaders Borussia Dortmund in their 3-1 defeat at home.
"Dortmund were the better team in the first hour, they played with a good tempo and they covered a lot of ground. We couldn't find a way [to score] and we gave them a helping hand in the first two goals," he told Sky after the final whistle.
"We played quite differently after the [triple] substitution and we managed to score a consolation goal."
Die Werkself's defeat leaves them thirteen points behind league leaders Dortmund with eighteen games played.
