Bayern Munich are considering making an offer for River Plate starlet Erik Lamela, if a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport is to be believed.
Lamela, 18, is known for his pace and dribbling ability, and has been likened to Kaka. After a €6 million bid from Milan was allegedly rejected, Bayern are now in a good position to sign the Argentine attacker. River Plate president Daniel Passarella and Bayern boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge are good friends, and the Bavarian club are therefore expected to be given rights to first contact with the player.
The issue of cost could derail the transfer, however. While some reports have suggested River Plate expect €12-15m, others indicate that the Argentine club will hold out for up to €18m.
