Bayern Munich are insistent that Bastian Schweinsteiger will sign a contract extension, but the German champions are reportedly making preparations should the 26-year-old opt out of a new deal.
According to Express, Bayern have lined up Bayer Leverkusen's Arturo Vidal as a possible replacement for either Schweinsteiger or Mark van Bommel, the latter of whom will be out of a contract next summer.
Vidal, 23, has been in excellent form this year, and Leverkusen will be keen to retain his services. Die Werkself have no need to sell the player, who is under contract until 2014, but might permit a transfer should a substantial offer be made.
