Bundesliga table toppers Borussia Dortmund have concluded contract negotiations with highly rated midfielder Kevin Grosskreutz. BvB have confirmed on their official website that Grosskreutz has signed a contract extension until 2014.
The 22-year-old midfielder joined Dortmund from Rot-Weiss Ahlen in the summer of 2009 and has since developed into a key player at the Europa League hopefuls. Grosskreutz has so far scored nine goals in 46 Bundesliga appearances.
Grosskreutz's previous contract with Borussia was due to expire in the summer of 2012, but Dortmund decided to reward the midfielder for his good performances by offering him an improved deal before other clubs showed an interest in him.
"Everybody knows that Borussia Dortmund is my dream club, so I'm obviously delighted with this contract extension," Grosskreutz was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
Dortmund previously extended the contracts of head coach Juergen Klopp and young attacking midfielder Mario Goetze.
