Borussia Dortmund Defender Mats Hummels On Inter Radar - Report

Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has supposedly attracted the interest of Inter.
Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels could be on his way out of the Bundesliga table toppers as Italian champions Inter have shown an interest in signing the centre-back, according to a report in A Bola.

The Nerazzurri are being plagued by injuries at the back and head coach Rafa Benitez is desperate to strengthen his back-line in the January transfer window. The former Liverpool gaffer reportedly considers Hummels to be the perfect addition to his squad.

The 21-year-old Hummels is a product of the Bayern Munich youth academy, but failed to secure regular first team football at the Bavarians. Therefore, he opted to move on and joined Dortmund in January 2008.

It remains to be seen though whether Inter will succeed to lure Hummels away from his current club. The Germany international's current contract runs until the summer of 2013 and Dortmund are reluctant to let go of Hummels for anything less than €20 million.

Hummels has been in superb form for Dortmund this term and currently sit 16th in the Castrol Rankings.
