If a report on Itasportpress is to be believed, Champions League holders Inter are closely monitoring the situation of Germany international Stefan Kiessling, currently under contract with Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen.
The Nerazzurri were previously being linked with a move for Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt, but they eventually failed to lure the Dutch international away from his current club.
Therefore, Inter have turned their attention elsewhere and head coach Rafa Benitez supposedly sees Kiessling as the perfect alternative.
The highly rated attacker joined Leverkusen from Nuernberg in the summer of 2006 and has since developed into a key player at the Werkself. The 26-year-old has made over 50 league goals for Leverkusen in the past four seasons.
Kiessling's current contract with Leverkusen runs until the summer of 2015, meaning that Inter won't get the attacker on the cheap if they decide to make a move for him.
