Karl-Heinz Rummenigge claims that Bayern Munich are better and more successful than Real Madrid at the moment and therefore have no reason to fear that they will lose their best players to the Spanish giants.
Reports suggest that Madrid are still keen on signing Bayern midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger and full-back Philipp Lahm but having staved off the Blancos' interest in Franck Ribery, Rummenigge is confident that the duo will not leave for the Bernabeu any time soon.
"Real Madrid have a great name, but Bayern are better and, at the moment, we are the more successful club," the Bayern chairman told Bild. "I think we can come to an agreement to extend the two deals until 2015."
Rummenigge also spoke about a contract extension for coach Louis van Gaal.
"We are very satisfied with Louis van Gaal's work. We aim to extend his contract. I expect that we'll know by Christmas what is happening."
