Bundesliga outfit Borussia Moenchengladbach have completed the transfer of towering forward Mohamadou Idrissou from Freiburg on a free transfer. The Cameroonian international has signed a two-year deal at his new club.
"Mohamadou Idrissou is a fast striker who scores quite easily. His versatility makes him an option for all the attacking positions in our line-up," technical director Max Eberl was quoted as saying on the official website of the Fohlen.
"He will replace Rob Friend in our squad for next season. Friend is close to joining 2. Bundesliga side Hertha BSC."
The 30-year-old attacker previously played for Racing Bafoussam, Cotonsport Garoua, FSV Frankfurt, Wehen, Hannover, Duisburg and Freiburg. He had an expiring contract with Freiburg and refused to sign a contract extension.
"I visited several matches of Borussia last term and I was impressed with the atmosphere at Borussia Park. It's a great stadium and I'm looking forward to playing there next season. Borussia are a great club with a very good squad. I'm very happy with this transfer."
