Brazilian centre-back Douglas has attracted the interest of ambitious Bundesliga side Hamburger SV with his strong performances at Twente over the last season, if a report in Voetbal International is to be believed.
HSV are in the market for defensive reinforcements due to the departure of Jerome Boateng to Manchester City this summer and new head coach Armin Veh supposedly sees Douglas as the perfect replacement.
The 22-year-old defender has developed into one of the best defenders in the Eredivisie since joining Twente from Joinville and is continually being linked with a move to a bigger club.
Aside from Hamburg, teams such as Wolfsburg and Juventus are also closely monitoring the situation of Douglas at the reigning Dutch champions.
Douglas' current contract with Twente runs until the summer of 2012, but the Tukkers could be tempted to cash in on their star defender if an offer in the region of €9 million comes in.
