Germany coach Joachim Loew was delighted with his team's 3-0 victory over Hungary on Saturday evening. Die Mannschaft played dominantly in the first half, during which time Sami Khedira filled in for skipper Michael Ballack in central midfield.
After the match, Loew praised the 23-year-old Stuttgart enforcer for his impressive performance.
"Khedira played very well in the first half," Loew said, before adding, "I liked him. He was also very good in organising the game."
The Germany coach also explained his reason for substituting his star after only 45 minutes of play.
"He had muscle tightness, so we took him out as a precaution."
Loew also praised new goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who was only named the first-choice last week.
"Neuer has done his job very well. He did not have much to do, but he played well throughout the match."
Germany have one last warmup match against Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 3 before their World Cup opener against Australia, which follows ten days later.
