Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen are closely monitoring the situation of Twente's Austrian international Marko Arnautovic, according to a report in Bild.
The Hanseaten have qualified for Champions League football next season and are eager to add some more depth to their squad in order to be competitive at the top level. Head coach Thomas Schaaf supposedly sees Arnautovic as the perfect addition to his squad.
Arnautovic is a product of the Twente youth academy and quickly became a first team regular after making his official debut in the 2006-07 season.
The 21-year-old then attracted the interest of Inter with his strong performances and played on loan with the Italian champions last term. However, Arnautovic failed to secure regular first team action at Inter and will return to Twente this summer.
Werder Bremen reportedly face stiff competition from Wolfsburg in the race for Arnautovic’s signature. The attacker’s current Twente deal is due to expire in the summer of 2012, but the Tukkers are eager to cash in on the forward.
