Ambitious Bundesliga side Werder Bremen are closely monitoring the situation of Nacional de Madeira midfielder Ruben Micael, according to a report on Spox.
The Hanseaten impressed during the first half of the season, but have dropped to sixth spot in the table following two consecutive defeats in the lead-up to the winter break.
Head coach Thomas Schaaf is eager to guide Werder to Bundesliga success though, and has therefore asked for reinforcements. The 23-year-old Micael is reported to be one of Bremen's primary transfer targets.
The attacking midfielder impressed the Werder scouts during his side's Europa League campaign. Nacional were beaten twice by the Hanseaten in the group stage.
However, Bremen reportedly face stiff competition in the race for Micael's signature. Sporting CP and Real Zaragoza are also keeping tabs on the former Portugal under-21 starlet.
