Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have reached an agreement with Dutch side Twente about the transfer of highly rated left back Edson Braafheid. The 26-year-old will undergo a medical test this Thursday and sign a four-year deal.
The former Utrecht defender has been one of the absolute key men for Twente this term and this didn't go unnoticed in the rest of Europe. Schalke'04, Tottenham Hotspur, PSV, and Ajax were reportedly all keeping tabs on Braafheid.
Earlier reports claimed that the Dutch international was on his way to Ajax about
a week ago, however, Braafheid made it clear that he wanted to sign for
Bayern as soon as the Bavarians joined the race for his signature.
The German rekordmeister pay Twente a transfer fee in the region of €2 million for the left back.
Braafheid is Bayern's sixth signing for next season after the earlier transfers of Mario Gomez, Anatoli Tymoschuk, Danijel Pranjic, Alexander Baumjohann and Ivica Olic.
