The 30-year-old defensive player has been handed a contract until 30 June 2009 by the German capital club.

Leandro Cufre we have been able to sign an internationally experienced player,
who can play as a right or left-sided defender,” explained Hertha manager Dieter
The player was equally as
enthusiastic about his move to the Bundesliga third-place side.
“I am very happy to be given
the chance to play for such a famous club as Hertha BSC. I want to do my bit to help the club achieve
their goals and I am looking forward to the Bundesliga.”
Cufre has already taken part
in his first training session with his new team-mates.
The South American started
his career at Gimnasia La Plata before moving to Roma in 2002. He went on loan to Siena
for a season before switching to the south of France
He has 17 international caps
