Highly rated midfielder Christian Gentner will leave reigning Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg for Stuttgart on a free transfer at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old's current Wolfsburg deal is due to expire in the summer and Genter recently revealed his intention to leave the Wolfe on a Bosman move.
Gentner had attracted the interest of Stuttgart and Hoffenheim and has now made the decision to join the Schwaben at the end of the season. The German international is a product of the Stuttgart youth academy, whom he left for Wolfsburg in 2007.
The midfielder has made 82 Bundesliga appearances for Wolfsburg and played an important role in the club's league title success last term.
"I've had a great time at Wolfsburg and I'm still enjoying my stay at the club, but Stuttgart has always been in my heart. My love for the club made me decide to return to Stuttgart," said Gentner on the official Stuttgart website.
