Eredivisie club Vitesse Arnhem are interested in Vegalta Sendai's Japanese international Kunimitsu Sekiguchi, according to a Dutch report.
According to the Omroep Gelderland, Vitesse technical director Ted van Leeuwen recently travelled to Japan to watch Sekiguchi.
The 25-year-old Japanese midfielder has three senior caps with the Samurai Blue having made his international debut against Argentina last October.
Vitesse, who are currently without a manager having survived the drop during the 2010-11 season through the relegation playoffs, have another Japanese player, Michihiro Yasuda already on their books.
Sekiguchi has made 11 appearances for Vegalta in the 2011 J-League campaign, as the club sit undefeated in second place.
