Juventus' captain Alessandro Del Piero held a press conference to present his project to support the victim of the natural disaster that recently hit Japan.

The first phase consists in the sale of a t-Shirt that presents a mixed Italian-Japanese flag and the ideogram "tomo," which means "friend."

"Some beautiful memories of my career are tied to Japan," wrote Del piero on a specific website he created to promote his project, www.ale10friendsforjapan.org.

"Thanks to my profession I came to know this wonderful country and its extraordinary people, that are already getting up again with pride, dignity and incredible determination."

The Juventus veteran will miss the next Serie A game against AS Roma due to a light injury, but hopes his friend Farancesco Totti will wear the T-shirt for him instead before kick-off. "I will give him a call," Del Piero said after the conference.

An account to send donations has been opened as well, and Del Piero is now networking to organize more events. "This started spontaneously, we have a lot of ideas but the bottom line is that we need to collect funds to help those in need."

The Bianconeri number 10 also spoke about his future, and when asked if he would contemplate a future in Japan, he replied: "Who knows? Anything can happen. I never shut any door that opened in front of me. I still feel very energetic, and I hope to stay at Juve, but I do not exclude anything."
