Destination top four? Arsenal unveil new jet for away games

The Gunners have slipped to fifth in the Premier League table, but they are ready to travel to forthcoming games at home and abroad in style

EXTRA TIME

Arsenal continue to set lofty targets for the 2016-17 campaign, and are set to take on their many challenges in style.

The Gunners are still setting their sights on a Premier League title challenge, with Arsene Wenger admitting that Chelsea’s defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday has raised hopes and created an “open league”.

Wenger: Moment of truth ahead

His side have, however, slipped to fifth in the standings, eight points adrift of the table-topping Blues.

They still have plenty left to play for, though, with their FA Cup campaign due to get underway this weekend and a meeting with Bayern Munich awaiting them in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Arsenal will be unable to use tiredness as an excuse when they travel to Germany for that contest, with the north London outfit having unveiled a new plane that will be used for away games.

The Emirates Airbus A380 has been customised to meet Arsenal’s needs, with some famous faces plastered across the side of the jet.

Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud, Hector Bellerin and Santi Cazorla make the cut, but there is no sign of Wenger.

Arsenal will use their new mode of transport when they travel to Munich in February, and also have lengthy trips to Middlesbrough, Stoke and Swansea to take in this season which could see the plane come in useful.

Alexis right to be angry at Arsenal

The aircraft boasts beds for all of the players and club staff, which are split across two decks, while there are 2,500 channels to choose from on the in-flight entertainment system.
