Arsenal fans were left red-faced on Friday evening as Serge Gnabry scored a hat-trick on his international debut for Germany.
The 21-year-old was on hand to tuck in a parried Mario Gomez effort to put Joachim Low's side 2-0 up after just nine minutes, and he later added two more as the visitors ran riot against San Marino.
And the goals soon sparked a debate across Twitter over whether Arsene Wenger had made a mistake letting him leave Arsenal in the summer.
Failing to establish himself at the Emirates, Gnabry opted for a permanent return to his homeland with Werder Bremen, for whom he's gone on to score four goals in nine games.
While some Arsenal fans took to their social media accounts to slam the derisory sum Gnabry was sold for, others rued Wenger's decision to keep Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ahead of him.
Wenger made a horrible mistake by selling Gnabry without buy-back clause and keeping Ox. Absolutely terrible— Nigerian Hleb (@MajesticIwobi) November 11, 2016
