Iran: Sepahan Appoint Firat As Coach

Engin Firat has been appointed as the new coach of Iranian club Sepahan.

The Turkish tactician has taken charge of the 2008 league runners-up with immediate effect.

After losing the league title to Persepolis on the last day of the season, Sepahan then crashed out of the Hazfi Cup. Jorvan Vieira then left the club.

“We have signed a one-year contract with Firat, with an option to increase it to three years. Firat will also bring in one Turkish assistant coach in a few days,” club’s Managing Director Mohammad Reza Saket told Iranian Fars news agency.

Firat had been serving under Ali Daei as the assistant coach of the Iranian national team.
