Churchill Brothers have strengthened their squad further by signing Japanese midfielder Dan Ito.
Under the ‘3+1’ rule introduced by the Asian Football
Confederation (AFC) which was welcomed by all Asian communities, the I-League champions have signed Ito for three years.
The well-travelled star reinforces a midfield which
saw Chitra Singh leave for Salgaocar SC in the summer.
The Japanese midfielder has played in nine countries across
Asia Pacific including Australia and Singapore.
Interestingly, Ito played
alongside Mohun Bagan’s Jose Barreto at Penang FC of Malaysia.
Ito will join Churchill Brothers in their AFC Cup campaign
“He is a very skilful player, who can deliver accurate
passes. He has a good vision and is an intelligent footballer," Ito’s
agent told Goal.com.
