Villarreal's Santiago Cazorla denies Malaga deal

Villarreal midfielder Santiago Cazorla insists that he wants to remain with his current club after being linked with a transfer to Malaga.

The Spanish outfit, who are financially supported by Qatari investors, had been rumoured to be offering €20 million for the midfielder's services.

However, the 26-year-old says that that no deal between the two clubs has been made and is quoted as saying by Spanish sports daily Marca: "There is no agreement between the clubs. I am fine here and I am a Villarreal player. There is nothing else to say."

Cazorla, who joined Villarreal in 2007, would have played alongside the likes of other recent signings Diego Buonanotte, Jeremy Toulalan and Nacho Monreal if the transfer were to be completed.

The Yellow Submarine will continue their pre-season campaign on August 6 against Premier League outfit Everton.
