Primera Division outfit Osasuna have confirmed the capture of influential midfielder Damia from Real Betis on a free transfer. A statement on the club's official website informs that the 28-year-old has signed a three-year deal with his new club.
Damia started his professional career at Peralada and also wore the jerseys of Valencia B, Figueres, Barcelona and Racing Santander before eventually joining Real Betis in the summer of 2006.
The versatile midfielder had developed into an integral part of the first team at Betis in the past four seasons, but expressed his desire to move to a bigger club after Los Verdiblancos failed to win promotion back to the Primera Division last term.
The former Barcelona starlet is Osasuna's fourth signing of the summer transfer window. The Navarrans previously secured the services of Dejan Lekic, Asier Riesgo and Fernando Soriano. Damia will join up with the rest of his teammates for a training camp in Jerez de la Frontera on Thursday.
