Koke not bothered by FIFPro World XI snub

The Spaniard is unfazed at being overlooked on the 15-midfielder shortlist for their 2014 XI, which includes eight players who have featured in his position in La Liga this year
Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke is insistent he is not in the leat bit annoyed at being ignored by his fellow professionals on the FIFPro World XI midfielders shortlist.

The 22-year-old made 36 Liga appearances as los Rojiblancos won an historic league title but despite his achievements he was left off the list of nominations for those who play in the middle of the park.

But, speaking at the XXVI Gala del Futbol de Madrid, Koke stated that the snub will have no effect on him as he looks to help Atletico continue to improve after a sluggish start to the season

"I'm not bothered; I am dedicated to playing football, training every day, having fun and being happy," he said.

"This is a marathon, we have just begun. Important players have come in and we are slowly forming a team like last year."

Diego Simeone's men currently occupy third position in La Liga and will welcome Deportivo La Coruna to the Vicente Calderon on Sunday.
