Real Madrid legend Pahino dies

It is a sad day for the Blancos faithful, after one of the most prolific strikers in the club's history passed away
Former Real Madrid striker Pahino has died at the age of 89, the Spanish club have announced.

The former Celta Vigo attacker spent five years at Madrid between 1948 and 1953 before joining Deportivo La Coruna after being refused a three-year contract extension.

Los Blancos did not win any silverware during Pahino's stint, but he still earned iconic status at the club, scoring 124 goals in 144 matches to enter Madrid's list of all-time greatest goalscorers.

Pahino, who also represented the Spain national team on three occasions, ended his career in 1957 at Granada.
