Valencia have sold Jordi Alba, claims Emery

The versatile left-back has been repeatedly linked with a move to Camp Nou this summer and the 40-year-old coach has now revealed that the player has left Mestalla
Former Valencia boss Unai Emery has claimed that the club have already sold left-back Jordi Alba.

The Spain international has been heavily linked with Barcelona in recent months but thus far there has been no official confirmation that the player is bound for Camp Nou.

However, in discussing his time at Mestalla in an interview with Onda Cero, Emery has claimed that Alba has already parted company with Los Che.

"Valencia is a team that buys players who are not the finished article and then, when they are finished, possibly sells them on, as has happened with Jordi Alba," the 40-year-old coach mused.

Barca have reportedly identified the versatile Alba as the ideal replacement for Eric Abidal, who has been ruled out of action for an indefinite period of time after undergoing a liver transplant.

However, Manchester United and AC Milan are also believed to be interested in the Blaugrana youth academy product, who is just as comfortable on the wing as he is in defence.

Emery, meanwhile, is now expected to take charge of Russian outfit Spartak Moscow. will be running a dedicated LIVE! on Saturday from 11.00-00.00BST to keep you up to date with all the latest about the Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Chelsea, while also offering you the chance to ask our European football editors any questions you have about the game via International's Twitter account, or our Facebook page.
