Barcelona to face Athletic Bilbao without Adriano - report

The Brazilian full-back will not be match fit in time for this weekend's Primera Division clash, but could make his comeback in the Champions League match versus AC Milan
Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola has received some disappointing news from the treatment table ahead of Saturday's La Liga match at home against Athletic Bilbao as he will have to make do without the services of full-back Adriano due to injury, Sport reports.

The Brazilian defender picked up a muscular problem in Barca's 5-3 La Liga win over Granada on March 20, and has since been out of action.

Adriano consequently missed the 2-0 league win over Mallorca, and the scoreless Champions League draw versus AC Milan.

Barcelona were initially hopeful that the 27-year-old could make his comeback against Athletic on Saturday, but the Catalans' medical staff have decided not to take any risks with Adriano.

Therefore, the wing-back is now expected to return to match action in the second leg of Barca's Champions League quarter-final at home against Milan on Tuesday.
