Deco: My Barcelona had more decisive players than current team

The Brazil-born midfielder has voiced his opinion that the squad he was part of had more individual class, but has admitted the current crop is better overall
Fluminense midfielder Deco has stated his belief that Pep Guardiola's Barcelona side do not have as many players who can make the difference as the team the 34-year-old played in from 2004 until 2008.

The former Portugal international won two La Liga titles and one Champions League trophy during his spell at Camp Nou and feels the squad he was part of had more individual quality, although he has admitted that the current team is more complete.

"This Barcelona really play like a team and they have more quality overall than my Barca. However, looking at individual quality, we had more players who could make the difference," Deco was quoted as saying by Terra Brasil.

"The current team plays better football, is more complete and always finds solutions for every situation. However, we had more star players and individual class."

Deco played alongside key figures such as Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto'o and Ludovic Giuly among others during his time at Barcelona.
