Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara has attempted to divert the focus to their 3-0 win over Racing Santander in La Liga, claiming that it is the three points that are most important, not the state of their treatment table.
The 20-year-old started the match alongside Xavi and Andres Iniesta in midfield, and told Canal Plus after the match of his relief to have secured the victory at Camp Nou on Saturday.
"The [most] important thing is to get the [three] points, no matter what the outcome is," said Thiago.
"It is always said that when people return from international duty, it is a little more difficult for clubs to play their forthcoming games, but we could deal with it in the first half and we have done well."
Thiago then spoke about the predicament involving defender Gerard Pique, who will join the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Cesc Fabregas on the sidelines once more, but the Italy-born star is adamant that his team-mate will make a comeback in the near future.
"Pique has played several matches for Spain and is exhausted, but he will recover soon and will be with us once more," he assured.
Barcelona remain top of the Primera Division after their win over Racing.
