Mallorca's Jonathan de Guzman hopeful of sealing Villarreal move

The Dutch midfielder has set his sights on a move to the Madrigal outfit and his agent is currently in Spain to discuss a transfer
The agent of Mallorca playmaker Jonathan de Guzman, is hopeful that the former Feyenoord ace will move to Villarreal before the transfer window slams shut on Wednesday.

De Guzman has long been linked with a move to El Madrigal, but Villarreal have so far refused to meet Mallorca's valuation of the 23-year-old.

However, the player's representative Jan de Visser, hasn't given up hopes that the move will go ahead and the Dutchman is currently in Mallorca to discuss the transfer.

"We hope that the deal will go ahead, because Jonathan has really set his sights on a move to Villarreal," De Visser was quoted saying by Voetbal International.

Villarreal consider De Guzman to be the perfect replacement for Santi Cazorla, who left the club for Malaga earlier this summer.

The Valencian outfit kicked off their 2011-12 La Liga campaign with a 5-0 away loss against Barcelona on Monday.

De Guzman has a contract with Mallorca until the summer of 2013.
