Real Madrid have revealed on their official website that midfielder Nuri Sahin is nearing a return to match action as the former Borussia Dortmund ace has resumed regular squad training after an injury lay-off.
The 22-year-old left the Bundesliga champions for the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this summer, but a knee injury has prevented him from making his Real Madrid debut so far.
Sahin picked up the knock some five weeks ago and was initially expected to get playing time for the first time during Madrid's pre-season tour to China.
However, the Turkey international endured a minor setback that kept him sidelined for three more weeks.
Sahin could be included in the Real Madrid squad for Wednesday's Santiago Bernabeu Trophy against Galatasaray, but head coach Jose Mourinho has yet to make a final decision on whether the new signing will feature.
