Real Madrid have announced the signing of Hamit Altintop on a four-year contract.

The Turkish midfielder has left Bayern Munich after four campaigns with the Bundesliga side, decided to leave the Allianz Arena on a Bosman after struggling to make an impact on the first team in 2010-11.

Altintop is the second piece of transfer business conducted by the Spanish giants for next season, after the capture of Nuri Sahin from Borussia Dortmund last week.

A statement on the club's official website reads: "Real Madrid C.F and former Bayern Munich player Hamit Altintop have reached an agreement in which he will join the club for the next four seasons."

Altintop's departure had been expected after the German club confirmed he was leaving following their final game against Stuttgart last week, as his deal was set to expire in June.

On Saturday, the 28-year-old told Goal.com he would be playing his football away from Germany in 2011-12.
