Villarreal after Twente's Bryan Ruiz - report

Bryan Ruiz could be on his way out of Eredivisie champions Twente at the end of the season as La Liga outfit Villarreal have shown an interest in signing the striker, El Mundo Deportivo reports.

The Yellow Submarines are in the market for attacking reinforcements because of the ongoing uncertainty over the future of star player Giuseppe Rossi and they consider the 25-year-old to be the perfect replacement in case the Italian leaves the club.

Ruiz started his professional career with Alajuelense before moving to Europe with Gent in the summer of 2006. He impressed in the Belgian league and earned himself a transfer to Twente in 2009.

The gifted attacker has since developed into a key player at the Enschede outfit and helped them to the Eredivisie title last term.

His good performances haven't gone unnoticed elsewhere and Sevilla are also believed to be interested in signing Ruiz. The forward has an ongoing contract with Twente and an offer in the region of €12 million could be needed to lure him away from the Grolsch Veste.
