Atletico Madrid after Espanyol's Pablo Osvaldo - report

Argentinian striker has been in fine goalscoring form and could be on his way to the capital in the summer transfer window
La Liga side Atletico Madrid are considering making a move for Espanyol's Argentinian attacker Pablo Osvaldo at the end of the season, Catalan daily Sport reports.

The Mattress Makers are in the market for a new striker because of the possible departure of Diego Forlan to Italy, and consider the prolific striker to be a suitable replacement in the event the Uruguayan leaves the Vicente Calderon.

The 25-year-old joined Espanyol from Bologna in January 2010 and since developed into a key player for the Blue and Whites. The much-travelled forward previously wore the jerseys of Huracan, Atalanta, Lecce and Fiorentina.

Osvaldo's current contract with Espanyol runs until the summer of 2015 and an offer in the region of €10 million could be needed to lure him away from Catalunya.
