Portuguese publication A Bola reports that Sporting Lisbon are considering making a move for defender Ezequiel Garay, currently under contract with La Liga giants Real Madrid.
The Green and Whites are desperate to add some fresh blood to their squad this summer after a relatively disappointing season and they consider the 24-year-old to be a useful addition to their roster.
Garay joined Real Madrid from Racing Santander in the summer of 2008, but the Argentine stopper has never been able to make an impact at Santiago Bernabeu.
Therefore, he could very well be on his way out of los Blancos in the summer transfer window in order to get regular first-team action elsewhere.
The centre-back's current deal runs until the summer of 2014, but Madrid are expected to be willing to open talks if a good offer were to arrive.
