Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has lavished praise on Esteban Granero and says that no one in the team works as hard as the midfielder.
Granero started Madrid's match against Racing Santander in the Spanish Primera Division on Sunday evening and gave a very encouraging performance.
A versatile player who can feature on the wings or down the centre of the pitch, Granero has struggled for a regular starting place but there is no dearth of endeavour from the Spaniard, says his coach.
"It pained me to leave Granero in the stands against Real Sociedad because nobody works as much as he does," said Mourinho in an interview on RealmadridTV's programme Real.
"Granero's natural position is in a 4-4-2 system within a diamond schematic. There is no one better at Real Madrid to play in that position.
"He is physically fit, intelligent and has a great heart. He always wants to help the team."
Granero has featured 11 times in La Liga this season, twice in the Champions League and eight times in the Copa del Rey.
