Malaga have been rocked by the news that goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo will miss the next six to eight months with a serious knee injury.
The 21-year-old joined los Boquerones during the January transfer window on loan from Atletico Madrid and suffered a serious injury to his right knee during the scoreless draw with Sevilla on Sunday. It's a big blow for Asenjo as he previously underwent surgery on the same knee.
Malaga only have goalkeeper Francesc Arnau available at the moment as Ruben Martinez is out injured as well.
Coach Manuel Pellegrini has the option to recall Brazilian Galatto to his squad, but it appears that los Boquerones will try to sign a new goalkeeper outside the transfer window.
