Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff has warned against ruling Real Madrid out of the title race despite their defeat at Osasuna leaving Jose Mourinho’s men seven points adrift.
Javier Camunas’ second half goal consigned Los Blancos to defeat and put the Blaugrana in pole position to secure their third consecutive league trophy.
Speaking in his weekly column for El Periodico de Catalunya, the Dutchman claimed that despite the significant gap between the sides, Barca’s rivals cannot be disregarded.
He stated: “The league is not decided. Seven points, plus our goal average, is a lot because the team is not giving anything away. But we must make sure that no one buries Real Madrid.”
Cruyff also commented on the Camp Nou club’s incredible run of results in the league, which reached 15 consecutive wins at Hercules on Saturday evening, saying: “How long can we extend this current streak? It depends on Real Madrid, if they remain close Barca are perfectly capable of not losing a single game from now until they are pronounced champions.”
