Villarreal defender Joan Capdevila believes that his team should approach their La Liga clash with Real Madrid this weekend with the intention of “having fun”.
The high-flying Yellow Submarines are currently situated in third place in the table behind Los Blancos, and are enjoying a hugely successful season so far.
Speaking to the media today, the Spanish international said that given the circumstances of the club’s lofty league position, the players should focus on enjoying the match.
He commented: “This year we are enjoying our football very much. We will go to the Santiago Bernabeu to have fun and be confident that everything will go well. We will not repeat what happened last year when we lost.
“We have learned our lesson and go in with the idea of making a great game also of things going well. We will try to overshadow Real Madrid, because we have nothing to lose and everything to win.
“On the counter we can be deadly because we have very fast players. That will be our initial approach.”
