Athletic Bilbao coach Joaquin Caparros was content to just collect the points after his side defeated Levante 2-1 yesterday.
Goals from Igor Gabilondo and Javi Martinez proved enough to allow Los Leones to end the year with a positive result, and edge up to sixth in the process.
Speaking to the media after the triumph, Caparros stressed that although his team had not performed brilliantly, he was happy to return home with a victory.
He commented, “After our poor streak away from home, victory was very important in a game where we have suffered setbacks, like the injury to Fernando Llorente.
“In other matches, we have been the better team and got nothing, but today was the opposite."
