Espanyol have secured the signing of Sergio Garcia from Segunda Division side Real Betis, according to Goal.com Spain.
The 27-year-old striker, who was a member of Spain's Euro 2008 winning squad, has put pen to paper on a a five year deal at the Cornella El Prat stadium, costing the Blanc i Blau €1.8 million.
The former Barcelona starlet joined the Andalusian side in 2008 in a €10 million deal from Real Zaragoza but failed to live up to expectations as Betis were relegated in his first season.
He is now expected to compete with Pablo Osvaldo and Ivan Alonso for a starting place in Mauricio Pochettino's side.
